Based on the reality singing competition ''The Voice of Holland'', the series was created by the Dutch television producer John de Mol. In season 4, the coaches are Rea Garvey (lead vocalist from Reamonn) , Stefanie Kloss (lead vocalist from Silbermond), Samu Haber (lead vocalist from Sunrise Avenue) and Michi Beck & Smudo (Rappers from Die Fantastischen Vier).
